 February Newsletter
 Hi Everyone

Good to see you all survived the holiday season and are looking forward to getting back to healthy eating and regular exercise. We love the challenge of getting you back to fitness after a break so make sure you book for a goal setting session and plan where you are going. Here is something to get you thinking.

A study found that 76% of people that wrote their goals down, set action commitments and sent their progress reports to a friend achieved significantly more than those who were asked to simply think about their goals.

Your best friend is your personal trainer so give them a call and get achieving for 2012!

 January Fitness Challenge

Richard set the early pace with his 44secs for 20 Burpees and then went to enjoy a week at the beach. This was a tough challenge especially after a break for most people and it is good to see a new champion on the leader board.

Bruce Henderson won the January event with 20 Burpees in an incredible 34 seconds beating Richard by 10secs!  Richard has set a new challenge for February so check out the Challenge board. 

 Join Richard in a 10km
Rich has already signed up for this year’s Orewa Beach 10km which is Sunday 15th April. You can walk or run the event and there is also a 5km event. So put your name up on the notice board and check in with Rich and Linda if you would like help putting together a running programme. 
 New Timetable for Pilates

Pilates.jpg It is great to welcome back Abby to the Studio and we have a new timetable for 2012.Saturday Morning 7.30-8.30am - You can’t help but feel good after an hour of stretching, strength work and stomach work. Wednesday Evening 7-8pm and spaces are filling fast so book ahead for this class.Tuesday 9.10am class is back on 14th  February . Our Mat Pilates is great value at only $60 for 6 classes and FREE to Studio members.  We keep our class numbers small so you get hands on help from Abby.

 New for February 5 Week Kick Butt Courses 

kick_butt.jpg I know it can be hard to get motivated sometimes and without a personal training session it is easy to skip a workout. Richard, Helen and Shirley have used their summer break to put all their favourite exercises into their own 5 Week Kick Butt Course.Group training is a great way to get results and at only $50 for the 5 week course it is cheaper than a curry night and better for your waistline!

 

Richard is running his 5 Week Course on Tuesday evenings 6.30-7.15pm – expect boxing, interval training and core work for your 6 pack. Mixed group training for all levels and making full use of the Studio and outdoors.  Max 10 per group. 

Shirley is running her 5 Week Kick Butt  Course on Wednesday evening 5.30-6.15pm – those of you who train with Shirley will know how she can target those stomach muscles and tone those legs and butts with just a few exercises and resistance bands and swiss balls. Total body approach to getting you fit and strong. Max 10 per group.

  

Helen is back full time in the Studio now and ready to kickbutt on Fridays at 10.30-11.15am. I will be mixing up some boxing with intervals and weights work to get those muscles toned up and burning fat. Max 10 per group 

Kick Butt courses start 28th February so get in quick for the trainer of your choice. 

Terms and conditions: each trainer is running their own 5 week program. All courses must be paid in advanced. Open to members and casuals.

 The Return of Linda
 Watch out everyone because Linda is back and fighting fit after her break. Keep an eye out for the running events programme to get us all back in our running shoes after the Christmas break.You can get those aches and pains sorted out or just treat yourself to a good loosening up massage by texting Linda on 027 486 6926 for an appointment.

Massage is a great way of preventing those niggles and tight muscles from becoming an injury. Linda and Helen are available for appointments throughout the week. Massage appointments are from $40 for 30 minutes.
